THIS IS A RESEARCH METHODOLOGY COURSE FOR POSTGRADUATES. THE COURSE EXAMINES TECHNIQUES OF RESEARCH PRESENTATION.

THE COURSE IS AIMED AT EXAMINING CONTEMPORARY LITERARY THEORY AND CRITICISM AFTER POSTMODERNISM

This course focuses on the rise of the English Novel from the 18th century to present!

The main aim of this course is to help the students learn and master the evolution of British literature from the Anglo-Saxon to the early eighteenth  century period; to learn the characteristic features of the periods in relation to some representative texts and authors; and to allow them interpret some of these texts based on the mythical, cosmic, religious, and historical bearings which characterized these periods. Such interpretations will enable them to evaluate the impact of such cultural backgrounds on literature and how the evolution of forms has led to the subsequent literary innovations we have today.
