This Course, “English Literature and Civilisation”, emphasizes the connection between literature, history, philosophy, art, myth, and religion from the diversity of British Culture and civilization in any era. The course allows the learners to study a full range of literature alongside classical texts in English civilisation which have influenced the literary tradition and the historical context that shaped them. It explores aspects of poetry, drama and prose in English and will also give learners an insight into the English cultural heritage in order to show how such genres influenced the philosophical and artistic perception of the world we now live in.

Creative Writing and Performance II, like Creative Writing I, satisfies the need of students who wish to pursue imaginative writing and perfect the craft of fiction- and literary production. The course offers students the opportunity to emulate the styles of established writers and give them further opportunity to receive feedback on their own writing in a workshop setting. Unlike Creative Writing I, it introduces students to stylistics and encourages them to do the following: engage in study and interpretation of other works; create and revise works of varying forms; they learn script writing techniques and performance; acting existing works. Creative Writing and performance II exposes students to the kinds of discussions and assignments they may also encounter in writing workshops in other institutions.
